TOPIC:
Legacy Modernization with Biztalk, Host Integration Server & WCF - Chris Rolon & Todd Sussman Enterprise IT professionals need to deploy new applications that are integrated and extend current systems, without disrupting the existing line-of-business operations. Typically, the bulk of existing operations are run on IBM heritage systems, such as zSeries mainframe, iSeries midrange, and Linux or UNIX servers running IBM DB2. Microsoft host integration technologies allow enterprise organizations to integrate their mission-critical IBM host applications, data sources and security systems with new solutions developed using the Microsoft Windows platform. We examine how to utilize Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006, BizTalk 2006 and the host adapters to efficiently deliver new solutions. In this second part of the session we will explore the world of WCF and its features. We will build a WCF service and client and demonstrate the capabilities of WCF.
