Azure Design Patterns

This 2 hours session from David Pallmann will start at 7:00 PM. We will review design patterns for Azure and look at a variety of application code demos including a grid computing application.

30 mins Introduction on Dependency Properties

Dependency properties are one of the most important and least understood aspects of Silverlight. This introductory session will start at sharp 6:30 PM by Richard Fencel who will describe the advantages of dependency properties and then explain how they work by building a custom dependency property system from scratch. You will obtain an intuitive "clay between the fingers" understanding of how dependency properties operate and what they are good for rather than an abstract concept of an underground plumbing system that magically connects Silverlight objects.

David Pallmann

David Pallmann is a director of consulting for Neudesic, a Microsoft Gold Partner and National Systems Integrator. Prior to joining Neudesic David worked at Microsoft on the WCF product team. He has 30 years experience in software engineering and has written 3 technical books. He is also a founding member of the Azure User Group.


Richard Fencel

Richard Fencel has been working with small computers since 1972. He is the author of the book Make and Version Control with Polytron (1991) and has been working with .NET since its inception and prior to that C++, C and various assembly languages. He has written a self- study course "Introduction to Silverlight 2", and gave part of this course in a lecture at Code Camp Cal State Fullerton.
